New digital technologies supporting export

New digital technologies, such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI), are radically transforming the way companies internationalize. This is a digital transformation in its own right, as these technologies not only make it easier to connect with international markets, but also allow them to operate globally as efficiently as a local company. This is a real game changer for those who want to expand beyond national borders.

And it is precisely this topic that was explored in depth on Nov. 27 at the meeting Export Evolution: Innovative Tools to Accelerate Internationalization, at Studio Piazza’s multifunctional headquarters in Brescia, Italy.

Export evolution and digital innovation

The workshop was organized by Roncucci&Partners and TEM PLUS to focus attention on the importance of exporting in Italian companies and to emphasize how new tools and new digital technologies are currently available to support this activity.

Talking about it in a conversational way were consultants and professionals who are always at the side of businesses, trying to bring out how one should not be afraid of the “unknown” and “change,” but on the contrary how one should delve into the new opportunities arising from digitization and therefore digital innovation.

Matteo Piazza, a certified public accountant from Studio Piazza, explained how the accountancy profession is changing and how it is now possible to process through artificial intelligence international official acts in a matter of handfuls of minutes. Sergio Ronconi, a highly experienced wealth manager at Mediolanum, supported by speeches from his sons, highlighted how foreign, finance and digitization are moving in an integrated and increasingly fast way. We then got to the heart of the meeting through the illustration of business cases and concrete opportunities for innovation:

  • Giovanni Roncucci, president of Roncucci&Partners, explained in simple words how the world landscape and international geopolitical balances are changing and therefore why we need to innovate;
  • Stella Occhialini, Board Member of Roncucci&Partners, presented the full potential of DIGISUITE, Roncucci&Partners’ new digital platform to support internationalization processes.

In a rapidly changing world, DIGISUITE fits in as an innovative platform designed to complement and enhance traditional consulting services. Thanks to its modular structure, DIGISUITE:

  • integrates advanced technological tools, strategic consulting, and training paths to improve the competitiveness of companies on a global scale
  • accompanies the progressive adoption and integration of new digital technologies into business processes

Immersive reality, virtual reality and artificial intelligence can thus become, without great difficulty, excellent allies in illustrating and describing a product to a potential buyer located thousands of miles away.

Returning to the workshop, Micol Vezzoli, Co-Founder and Partner of TEM PLUS, then mentioned that to make the most complex technologies work, the contribution of specialized figures is necessary: training, experience and seriousness become irreplaceable ingredients to support internationalization.

In conclusion, then, we are rapidly traveling to a new dimension of internationalization, where new digital technologies dialogue amiably with traditional culture and driven, all-human creativity. For it is only from the human-technology pair that the new normal will be born.

Examples of some innovative applications for internationalization

Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR):

  • Immersive Experiences: With the new digital technologies of AR and VR, companies can create immersive experiences for customers anywhere in the world. Think of a virtual showroom where one can “walk” through products or a virtual tour of a manufacturing plant. It’s like teleporting to another country without leaving your desk.
  • Training and Support: AR and VR technologies enable remote training of employees and customers with a realism that traditional e-learning methods cannot offer. Imagine putting on a VR visor and learning how to operate a new industrial machine as if you were actually there.

Artificial intelligence (AI):

  • Data analytics: AI can analyze huge amounts of data in real time, helping companies understand foreign markets, consumer behavior and emerging trends. It’s like having a super analyst by your side at all times.
  • Multilingual customer support: With chatbots and virtual assistants, companies can offer customer support in multiple languages, 24/7. Think of an assistant answering customer questions in Chinese, Spanish or German while the company is closed due to the time difference.
  • Process automation: Artificial intelligence can automate many business operations, from supply chain optimization to human resource management. This frees up time and resources to focus on growth and internationalization strategies.
